Can't be sure until we go back over a little history, but ultimately, you're still family.

And yes, I've dealt with any number of alternate worlds at various points. Some worse than others.

Hopefully this one isn't going to turn out bad.

I have hope that this place will be the best option for me.

What brings you here, if you don't mind me asking?

Oh. I asked for them to make sure that no one gets hurt -- my friends, or civilians. I mean, I hope I can protect them myself but if they can keep their end of the promise, it's better to be safe than sorry right?

( it doesn't make her a bad superhero to ask for help, does it? kara hopes that this will be another case of "stronger together". )

Yes. I would certainly agree.

Sometimes part of what we do is knowing when someone is better suited to a challenge. Sometimes, you have to step back.

Is he trying to convince her or himself? Who knows. After all, what's HE doing here? Either way, it's clear he approves.

Sometimes, you have to ask for help, too. We're stronger together.

( the family motto, pretty much. she told james about it, but it's good hearing something similar from clark, having it reaffirmed. for all that she's determined to tell her own story and life her own life, kara admires him a lot. )

What did you ask for?

I asked them to prevent a terrible tragedy in another world that I had visited.

I couldn't just leave it the way it was.

Oh. Do you want to talk about what happened?

If you want to know, I'll tell you.

He'd never keep that from her. He wasn't here to hide the crimes of his alternate. He was just here to try and fix them.

And prevent anything like that happening to his own world.

But the long and short of it boils down to the fact that Lois died and things only got worse from there.

Sometimes talking about it helps. But wow, I'm sorry. That's awful.

Did you ask for her life back, or for her not to have died in the first place? ( kara had thought about asking for her parents' lives, or for all of krypton, but -- it had seemed like too much. )

For her not to have died.

Her death triggered a nuclear explosion in Metropolis that destroyed the city.

My Lois is fine. That wasn't my world. The Clark there

The decisions he made after that tragedy brought about some truly horrible things. I thought this might be the best solution.

A nuclear explosion? ( well, hell. )

Not your Lois, but still Lois, right. So that can't have been easy.

No. Especially given that she was apparently with child.

The Justice League from our world was asked to assist those in the other world and eventually, I was pulled over. We handled it, but once I looked into everything that'd happened?

I couldn't let it stand.

Two lives lost.

Of course you couldn't. ( every life matters, but some people you care about even more than others -- kara doesn't even know lois personally, and her chest hurts a little thinking about this.

and not to change the topic, but -- ) Justice League?

The Justice League. Myself, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and many others.

I don't know any of them except you. Guess that means we are from different worlds, huh?

Would it surprise you if I told you that my world actually has two Karas, one of which was originally from a different world?

I choose to see it as just more family I get to meet.

Well, yeah? Kinda. I mean, it's not really strange if I think about it but. I never really thought about it before.

All the same... it's nice to have a Kara here.

And a Clark. Or two, maybe, but the other one hasn't gotten back to me yet so I don't know if he knows me.

Have you talked to him yet?

I'm aware of him.

After the recent experience, I'm content to see when we stumble into one another. If it happens it happens.
